Without question the home of professional wrestling in Manitoba is the LID Nightclub! It all began four years ago this week when Top Rope Championship Wrestling debuted at the venue then called the Palladium Nightclub!
Owned and Operated by 'Beautiful' Bobby Jay, TRCW and the Palladium ushered in a new era for independant professional wrestling in Manitoba and changed the local industry forever.
Without TRCW, there would not have been a PCW. This week, Premier Championship Wrestling pays tribute to the company that started it all with a very special match!
TRCW Heavyweight Champion 'Beautiful' Bobby Jay will defend the title one more time this Thursday night only at the LID Nightclub! His opponant will be a man as closely associated with TRCW as Bobby, 'Showtime' Robby Royce!
In other action, PCW Tag Team Champions Rawskillz & 'Vicious' Donny Dicaprio have taken the unusual step of challenging PCW Heavyweight Champion Mentallo & Kenny Omega to battle them for their title!
This match comes one week after Mentallo and Omega put on a display of superior wrestling excellence in a 30 minute classic. The end result was Mentallo advancing to the Premier Cup Tournament and Omega being relegated to the sidelines and a WildCard opportunity on May 26th. Following last week's match, Omega received medical attention and his condition is unknown at this time.
'Showtime' Robby Royce pulled the wool over everyones eyes with a pathetic display in his Premier Cup Qualifyer against fellow Elite Squad member Donny Dicaprio. The fix was in as Dicaprio laid down for Royce, allowing him to avance to the Tournament. On the heels of the unusual tag team championship challenge, Royce cryptically stated that he had a bigger shock in store this week and that Shallcross and PCW should prepare for an impact. Was his strange message an allusion to the one night return of TRCW or did he have something else in mind?
Many strange undercurrents surround this week's event as rumours abound about this being a very special event.
