It has been revealed via e-mails and message board posts that the AWA affiliation is available. While my knowledge of this situation was going to remain quiet, I feel it is best to set the record straight now that people are discussing it openly.
The local AWA affiliation has, reportedly, been pulled.
The affiliation has been offered to PCW and they maintain a first right of refusal for the time being and have indicated they intend to forward the signed letter of intent to assume the affiliation.
It has been reported that a BC based promoter has been interested in gaining the cross-Canada rights to the AWA affiliation.
And one rumour has another local personality who produced one large event earlier this year, pursueing the local affiliate for a proposed TV tie-in.
After meaning very little for the time the AWA was affiliated in Manitoba, it seems to have become a hot commodity of late.
AWA World Champion Steve Corino will be in Winnipeg to defend his title next Thursday at PCW's Beat The Summer Heat.

Questions, questions, questions....
If PCW becomes a member of the AWA< does this mean they control the AWA name for the entire country, or would the folks in BC or out East for that matter be allowed to run under the AWA name?
Why did they pull the membership from Wayne's company in the first place?
How often do other AWA affiliates (other than Zero One) run shows?
What happens to the NWA Canadian X Division title if PCW joins the AWA?

The offer that was made to me was for Manitoba only.
You'd have to ask Wayne. I was told there were multiple reasons with Wayne's backing out of the Corino booking as the last one.
I am not sure how often AWA affiliates run to be honest, though they must run at least 4 shows per year.
The NWA Canadian X Division title was a gimmick I used to create discussion and controversey. At best, it would be a great gimmick to get Kenny and PCW a little wrestling press and could have become a credible title if the NWA promoters had half a brain in their heads. Instead, they would rather have 72 regional jr titles that no one cares about. The only thing that made the Canadian X title legitimate is the Premier Cup, Kenny Omega and the recognition of the NWA President. Since the NWA President is no more, then I can only assume the NWA will at some point rule to not recognize the title or to actually do something forward thinking and recognize it after all. In any event, what the NWA does means nothing to me.
The title is still recognized by the majority of NWA Canadian promoters.
As for how we portray that title, tune in to the shows to find out.
