Unfortunately, my records are sketchy, but the first ever Eliminator took place at the Stratosphere Nightclub.
I could very well be incorrect, but I believe the teams were:
Mentallo, Shawn Houston, Pete Chee and possibly Kenny Omega vs Antonio Scorpio Jr, Chad Tatum, Ronnie Attitude & Chris Raine. The prize was a shot at the PCW Junior Heavyweight Championship held by Rawskillz.
In the end, Mentallo and Houston survived for their team. Later in the night, they faced each other in a thrilling match. It was the superstar veteran vs the young upstart who had only been in PCW for a few short months. The two men put on a high flying affair and the future 'Mr. Amazing' got the upset victory.
Both men were huge fan favourites at the time. One of the unique things about the Eliminator is, it all but gaurantees an unusal face/face or heel/heel match-up in the finals.
Houston went on to defeat Rawskillz for the PCW Junior Heavyweight Championship at Beat The Summer Heat on July 10th 2003.
The Eliminator came about as a result of PCW's overwhelming supply of talented cruiserweight talent and it came from the creative mind of Mike Davidson.
