Raine Upset, King & Skillz Victorious & Royce Up 2-0
Winnipeg, Mb – Premier Championship Wrestling presented another exciting night of wrestling action this past Thursday at the Stratosphere nightclub! Continuing to demand better competition, Chris Raine was upset in a shocking match, King enlisted the aid of Rawskillz in defeating his former protégé’s and Royce defeated Omega once again in a controversial finish! Here it is, in Case You Missed It!
Last week, Chris Raine hit the ring for an impromptu promo demanding better competition. Commissioner Manos obliged, giving Raine a non-title match with Chi Chi Cruz. Although looking very impressive, Raine was outmatched by the PCW Heavyweight Champion and lost. This past Thursday, Raine once again hit the ring, tossing the production sheet aside and demanding a match. The familiar strains of the Ugandan march emanated from the sound system as Pete Chee made his way to the ring. Chee, however, announced that he was not Raine’s opponent and introduced the man who would face Chris – The World’s Tallest Midget Mike Hammer!
Raine could not hide his enthusiasm, assuming it would be an easy match. Hammer, however, used his intelligence and trickery to get the upper hand on several occasions. But Raine’s superior size and strength allowed him to dominate much of the match until he accidentally struck senior official Scotty Bowman in the groin. Pete Chee used the opportunity to attack Raine, hitting him with the incredible Van Terminator, giving Hammer the shocking upset victory!
Chris Raine was visibly enraged after the match as Hammer, tears in his eyes, celebrated by embracing many of the great fans in attendance.
For several weeks, Antonio Scorpio Jr has battled his mentor King, attacking him at every turn. Last Thursday, King turned the tables on his protégé taking the fight to the young Scorpio. With Natrix siding with Scorpio, King enlisted the aid of 3-Time former Junior Heavyweight Champion, Rawskillz to even the odds. This past Thursday, the four men engaged in a great tag team match. The experience of King and Rawskillz proved to be the difference as they kept the smaller rookie Natrix in the ring for long stretches at a time and dominated him. As the match progressed the fans actually began to appreciate Natrix’s desire as he refused to quit. Finally, he had taken too much and fell victim to a Sheer Drop Brainbuster by Rawskillz. After the match, Scorpio explained his unhappiness at losing to his partner, by choking and shoving Natrix. Following the show, Natrix was taken to the hospital with internal injuries. An update on his condition will be posted to pcwlive.ca
In other action, PCW Tag Team Champions continued to roll, defeating the very capable Ukrainian Sex Mafia, Sugardaddy Dixon and The Gigolo. Suffering by the absence of manager Vinko, the Mafia seemed to have a falling out with valet Charity as well. After the match, she was enraged at the loss and slapped both men before storming out of the ring.
PCW Heavyweight Champion Chi Chi Cruz continues to dominate, this week defeating local hero “Diehard” Greg Romijn in a great match, punctuated by several piercing chops that left Romijn’s chest bleeding.
“Mr. Sports Entertainment” Chris Stevens looked very impressive defeating Junior Heavyweight Champion Shawn Houston in a non-title match, in what many called the match of the night. Both men received a standing ovation from the great fans after the match.
The most anticipated series of matches in PCW history continued this past Thursday as Kenny Omega faced “Showtime” Robby Royce in Match II of the Best of Five Series featuring a Fan-Chosen Stipulation in each match. Last week, Royce was victorious in a lumberjack match and gloated to the fans that he had Kenny’s number. This past Thursday, the stipulation chosen by the fans was an I Quit match!
As expected, the match was another classic. Both men utilized the live microphone carried by Senior Official Bowman for the match. At one point, as they battled outside the ring, Omega hit a phenomenal moonsault off the main bar in the Stratosphere Nightclub!
The crowd was on their feet for the entire match, thrilled by every move. Eventually, Royce got the advantage and took full advantage of the no disqualification aspect of the I Quit match by delivering two stunning DDT’s to Omega on a steal chair. A nearly unconscious Omega refused to quit and Royce continued to carnage, piledriving him on the chair. Rawskillz, a close friend of Omega, came to ringside, visibly concerned. Royce, smiling and confident, hit another piledriver onto a steel chair. Omega was totally unconscious at this point and Royce struggled to lift him for yet another piledriver. Rawskillz had seen enough, throwing in the towel and pleading with Bowman to stop the match. In controversial fashion, Bowman accepted the concession by Rawskillz and awarded the victory to Royce.
“Showtime” is now up 2-0 in the Best of Five Series.
Kenny Omega was taken for medical attention after the show, although no update was available at the time of this writing.
Here is the rest of what you missed:
PCW Tag Team Champions Perfect Balance defeated Ukrainian Sex Mafia… PCW Heavyweight Champion Chi Chi Cruz beat “Diehard” Greg Romijn in a non-title match… World’s Tallest Midget Mike Hammer pinned Chris Raine… King & Rawskillz defeated Natrix & Antonio Scorpio Jr… In a non-title match “Mr. Sports Entertainment” Chris Stevens beat Junior Heavyweight Champion Shawn Houston… In Match II of the Best of Five Series, “Showtime” Robby Royce defeated Kenny Omega in an I Quit Match when Rawskillz threw in the towel…<br>
[/B]Notes From Now:
This was only the second show after Davidson and some of the boys left to form AWE. We were certainly in 'stability mode', moving cautiously forward. Omega/Royce continued to be the jewel in our crown with their incredible Best of Five series. In an interesting note, the man who threw in the towel on the behalf of Omega one year ago, was the same man who won the PCW Tag Team Championship with Omega just last week. Being able to tell stories that reach back years is a great advantage we have in PCW.
Chris Raine was quickly becoming the most hated man in PCW.
Stevens and Houston always have incredible mathes and putting them together when I need a good match to fill out the show is a non-brainer.
The show two years ago was great fun. Having Lalonde and Olson on the show was a huge honor. PCW also received a plug in the Wpg Sun the day of the show for Olsons appearance, something other local indy's have been unable to do.
Cruz' debut had HUGE and obvious implications. The interesting 'behind the scenes' story concerning Cruz and his work with PCW was that he also accepted a regular spot with TRCW. Mike objected to that, wanting to keep our crew unique and exclusive from the others. Cruz obliged and only worked for TRCW in a hood. He did not work there for long.
