from ProblemSolver (who clearly lacks any real understanding of the business):...keep in mind, this is in response to my post about RAW where I merely stated my opinion that the Batista segments on RAW this week were weak in comparison to how they were before Creative latched onto him:
Now here's the thing, crowds are still popping huge for Orton, and sustain iut through his matches. Orton has won the title clean and has been booked to win big matches. He was turned because the fans wanted him turned and Vince listened.
This is the same as what happened with Guerrero on Smackdown, except, the fans still want Orton on top, because he is believable as a top star. The Guerrero experiment WAS a failure, but Andrew could never admit that. Orton is still successful, and Andrew claims that it is a failure. Guerrero was never a success on top, hence that he was booked VERY VERY weak during his run, but Andrew doesn't see that as a failure. This goes to show that Andrew hasn't a clue what makes sense. I am a fan and I know better.
Fans are popping for Batista and yes, the WWE could slow it down.
Best bet is that they tease this for a while longer and then add Flair to the mix. His act of sucking up to HHH is tired and needs to change. In fact, I'd goes as far to say that Flair is no longer needed in the ring, and needs to be off TV for a while. So why not burn to a four way between Hunter, Flair, Orton and Batista at Mania. Have Flair win the strap and retire. Go a month or so with the title being vacant and that they will bring back King of the Ring as a Raw PPV to crown the new champ. Have matches to qualify every week on Raw and take the time to make that title be the most important thing to everyone. Heck start with 32 guys and run the first 2 rounds on Raw before they run the 8 man tourney on PPV. You could build an undercard guy up to being believable by having him make the semis.
Flair could be back in the fall or winter to manage a new worker.
Another possible is that they can take Batista and have him win the Rumble and have Flair and Hunter screw him by signing him to face the Smackdown champ at Mania, claiming that they can run both shows. This can burn for a year long build to the end of the brand extension at Mania 22 where we'd get Batista vs Hunter.
