So remember when WWE was suppose to bring in Yoshihiro Asai maskless? Well since then Asai retired the Ultimo Dragon gimmick in Japan, sealing it if you would. Now that talks seem to be going nowhere between Asai and WWE, Asai is now forced to wrestle as The Tiger... Pic from the latest Osaka Pro show.

WWE has no clue how to book. The best thing they have done in ages is the Batista angle and that fell into their laps while they were pushing the horrible Orton angle.
And everytime creative tries to do something with Batista, they f**k it up (prime example: the backstage vignette where HHH revealed he had set JBL up).
Aside from the fact that Dragon could at least be used to move merch, a program between him and Rey is a no-brainer. Not only that, but if they really wanted him to lose his hood, a mask vs mask program is another no-brainer.

Ultimo Dragon has been dead as an effective in ring perfomer since the WCW doctors messed up his arm surgery. The most memorable thing he did during his WWE stint was slip on his cape at WM20, and if he was dumb enough to retire the Ultimo Dragon gimmick without having a deal with WWE to wrestle without the mask, that's his own d**n fault.
Conclusion: Ultimo Dragon killed Ultimo Dragon.

Ultimo was the best crusierweight in WCW.
And WWE never gave him a fair shake. Even if he was not as good as he once was, they dropped the ball on the obvious program with REY and the huge merch sales in Dragon hoods.

I'll agree Ultimo isn't as good as he once was but he still had something to offer. After he left WWE, New Japan did the right thing by scooping him up. He had a really good showing in the Best Of Super Juniors which included a nice TLD with Heat.
I kinda wish it was just an angle and later Asai could go back to the dragon gimmick. Just like Esaki from H to Hayabusa. To go back would be disrespectful, especially something that wasn't worked.

Well he should go back. Maybe you should start a 'Bring back the Dragon' petition...
